15 years ago, on this very day, 10th July, i was officially called to Lincoln’s Inn as a Barrister-in-Law.
Practically all my bar school mates ended up pursuing a career in the legal field and am extremely proud of some of my closest buddies who are now big names and partners in reputable firms.
Today also i was told the stress of work is what is actually killing me. It’s akin to a double-edged sword.
Everyone had very high hopes on me to make it as a barrister, especially my mentors, Snigdha and Catherine.
Although i truly love and am deeply passionate about what im doing now, i can’t help but wonder what would life be like if i had chosen and embarked on the path not taken after the 2 half years as a tenant in Matrix Chambers in London.
London will always be home to me. Always wondered what if i had stayed on.
A heck lot of things would have been reversed. And my life’s trajectory…..the story would be written differently.
All i can say is being a leader heading a company with 6-figure monthly overheads and the incessant worries and problems – is a truly no-joke arduous task. But this is my own nest i can call my own.
Nobody ever said something that is worth achieving is and will ever be easy to attain. And in the end, I live and breathe the tenet “Hard work makes good magic; and often it is the only magic you will ever need in life.”
