Let Pain be Pain

Pain can do three very important things in our lives:

it can prepare us for something else.

It can prepare us to help someone else.

And it can grant us a new perspective.

One thing that has always helped me through deep difficulty:

is knowing that my pain will never be wasted down here on earth:

because God can use it,

if I let Him.

If I surrender it.

This doesn’t mean my pain goes away:

it simply means that I become open to the idea:

of using my pain:

for something good.

It took me all the effort in the world to get out of bed most days back then and still does sometimes:

as I grapple with other difficulties.

But knowing in my heart that I can lift up another hurting heart like mine:

brings me healing.

Helping others through my writing:

brings me healing.

And let me tell you:

it’s not easy to be raw and real and honest:

in a world that has us so used to covering everything up,

shoving everything down and keeping on going.

Pain can do three very important things in our lives:

it can prepare us for something else.
It can prepare us to help someone else.
And it can grant us a new perspective.

And in my case, a great deal of pain in my own life:

has given me a Heavenly perspective.

To the point that I try not to get too worked up about things down here.

Because life on earth is the cover page:

while Eternity, pain free, is the rest of the story.

“All people are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” -1 Peter 1:24-25
