“..a sound mind…”

I heard you mend the  broken-spirited and comfort the hurt

I heard you lift those from the depths and gravity of despair and instill in them, hope and life again

I heard you give the weakest, your shoulder to lean on and the strength to soldier on, which such power only you are able to grant

I heard as long as that being repent, you forgive the sins of those whose crimes and sins are so awfully heinous that she never is to be forgiven by society

I heard we can trust you to cast all our earthly worries, fears into you and leave the terrifying life behind for you will lift us up and make us whole again

I heard you heal the physically sick and emotionally wounded to make them whole again

I heard you can fill hearts that feel so empty and void of anything humane with such overflowing and joyous love that no other being can offer

I heard that your love know no boundaries and know no limits that even the society’s untouchables can find love and acceptance under your wings

I heard it’s because of your grace that the fallen can rise once again

I heard that once we accept you into our lives, as our saviour, as our God, we are eternally your child and you will not forsake us, except only if we had forsaken you.

Faith is confidence in a future we hoped for and assurance in what we don’t yet see.

Faith isn’t certainty. It is belief in the face of questions and misgivings. It is trust despite doubt.

But faith isn’t static. We could have strong faith today and tomorrow go through something that makes us question everything. It is when doubt is met with mercy that faith expands, instead of turning into disbelief.

Dear God,

I know you are a good of many faces, things and with powers infinite. That’s what everyone says.

I was 11 when you had my IQ to be formally declared as 147 by mensa. The top 2% of the world’s population.

Expectations flew and only great things were expected of me. and from me. If I came home with a 99%, the inevitable question will be, “Why not 100%?” or “Whatever happened to the remaining 1%?”….

10 years later, in Year 2011, you gave me an irreversible diagnosis, akin to a life sentence trapped in my own head.

And 13 years later, today, I’m still struggling to find a place to belong and someone who understands.

They say, with power comes responsibility. Then is is true that with intelligence, comes feeling lost and the pain and suffering from the sheer uncertainty of where you stand in the midst of the 8.1 billion people on this planet Earth?

I can grasp complexities and the difficult but yet simple everyday things baffle me.

I know you hear me. You hear my cries.

I just long to be normal. Mediocre. Just like the rest of the 98% of the 8.1 billion people. And carry on with my life without shouldering this awful isolated burden.
